     Pole to Pole Network™ is a geo-specific network of steel poles geo-targeting and geo-marketing determined by the geo-location of a STRAHNET™ ad pole. The delivery of content to that visitor based on their location and ad pole sponsors products and services. Users will be able to define their preferences and functionality from a list of comprehensive features and services to create a dynamic real-world environment This includes state county, municipality, city, zip code, organization, IP address, ISP or other criteria. This is ‘the information highway redefined’.
     The virtual community of individual consumers who can interact through specific social media, crossing geographical virtual and physical boundaries in order to pursue purchases of good and services. Some of the most pervasive virtual communities are operating under social networking services that can be combined to eliminate a vendors direct connection and allow the consumers to communicate directly to suppliers check out and delivery portals. Disintermediation eliminates pricey mark-ups and allows for a more direct line of contact between the consumer storefront and the manufacturer.

     Virtual communities offer the advantage of instant information exchange that is not possible in a real-life community. This interaction allows people to engage in many activities and search for specific information. Users of online communities also have access to thousands of specific discussion groups where they can form specialized relationships and access information in such categories customer satisfaction reviews, technical assistance, social activities and recreational pleasures. Virtual communities provide an ideal medium for these types of relationships because information can easily be posted, and response times can be very fast. Another benefit is that these types of communities can provide and receive support.

     Pole to Pole will hit the net as a geo-specific network of virtual communities (VC’s) linking steel utility poles together per, region, city, and neighborhood. The Geo-IP collection of APIs and advertising campaigns will literally bring the online world down to the street level, creating networks of real communities that share a unique geographical location. Pole to Pole will publish and advertise content relevant to the poles location paid advertiser promotion or pull through display. This content combined with select information. products and services will create the experience where virtual reality meets actuality.

Geo-IP functionality will provide sponsored content and advertising tailored to the user’s real-world environment. This geo-specific network will connect people in ways that go beyond the unique cultural characteristics, lifestyle choices and neighborhood affiliations will shape and define sub-networks of the Pole to Pole domain. Sub-networks will be ranked on a national level by the number of registered advertisers and network activity. Special services and offerings will be awarded to high-ranking networks as a way of promoting competition for status while providing opportunities to showcase products a typical ‘somewhere out there’ online experience, achieving 3 levels of user focus: national, local, and personal.

     Economically, virtual communities can be commercially successful, making money through digital and analogue advertising campaigns. Consumers generally feel very comfortable making transactions online provided that the seller has a good reputation throughout the community. Virtual communities also provide the advantage of disintermediation in commercial transactions.

     The POLE TO POLE model has been created to work in tandem with the US highway system all-inclusive totaling our exposure over 46 thousand miles of interstate highways on www.strahnet.com.

     The interstate highway system links all major U.S. cities through a system of ‘control cities’ where an attempt has been made to streamline access on to and away from the highway system. Occasionally, a large city will not be a control city because a larger city is located farther along a highway.

     Wi-Fi access along the Interstate highway system is growing at ever increasing rates distributed by Department of Transportation authorities and private networks. Hotspots in rest areas, hotel chains situated along highway routes, airports, and a growing number of cities offering free wireless services are providing internet access along thousands of interstate highway miles.

     Wi-fi mesh networks are being designed and built to accommodate uninterrupted data connections to motorists traveling at speeds in excess of 180 km/h. Wi-Fi enabled cars will allow drivers and passengers to check their email and make restaurant reservations, but also avoid traffic jams and the scenes of traffic accidents. Vast accident avoidance systems are currently being devised that will take advantage of ‘smart cars’ ability to respond to commands such as emergency breaking that will automatically stop cars before collision via a wi-fi signal. Coupled with GPS, motorists can access highly customized information services based on location, destination, and specific user preferences. The future of specialized Internet access and the use of mobile computing devices and automobile dashboards are inextricably linked.

IMPLEMENTATION

POLE TO POLE™ will follow suit after the highway system in that the umbrella national site will be delineated into local regions according to all major cities and population centers. The project will focus alongside all major cities that will need to be defined to areas that need to meet a minimum and maximum potential user base, specifically tailored to have a high degree market focus for advertising streams. Such market-targeting strategies will determine how ad campaigns are established and distinguished from one another.

The Interstate highway ‘control city’ system will be the logical standard for the naming and service focus of the numerous sites. A further classification of service will be established by user interaction, where a user may request information services for a specific locality or reward but wish to participate with a larger ad network to which is part of full featured information service relevant to the users in their respective ‘point of focus’ or POF.

     As the POLE TO POLE is a ‘highway specialized’ product, it is both helpful and intuitive to mirror the control city system.

GEO-TARGETING / ADVERTISING

The revenue machine for POLE TO POLE™ is advertising and geo-targeting is the fuel. Advertising interests for one geocell would differ large or small from one another. As each geocell is represented by a specific POLE TO POLE™ advertising campaign advisories and other dynamic content, in addition to the peer-to-peer generated content, there is great potential for revenue generation by providing access to these designer specific markets to advertisers. POLE TO POLE will at the end of the day be built around these geocells. The more accurate and specific our profiles of the respective geocells within our network, the higher the premium we can demand of advertising customers. These kinds of metrics are highly sought after.

MOBILE DEVICES

     Leveraging the organically developing database of regional content springing from the network’s collection of news, traffic and weather feeds, coupled with the user generated community information flow, an ajax-based smart phone app will be developed to offer the mobile user a location aware access point. Referencing the user’s specific longitude/latitude a host of geo-specific data is served to their mobile device.

     Regional awareness will be achieved by a timer-base that monitors for changes in IP address on regular/small intervals.  As the mobile device connects and/or moves across the internet, the IP is checked for changes by going back and forth with the server in the background. Knowledge that a new cell has been entered will be delivered invisibly. Once a new area has been defined, the page will then reload offering forward the information available for that newly entered cell.

MARKET NICHE: RANKING

     Get on the map. All of the POLE TO POLE domains will form subdomains of poletopolenetwork.com, which will emerge as distinct network. Whenever regional totals attain a predetermined level of commissioned poles, the sub-network will activate the signal for their area and put that VC on the map.
     Ranking of sub-networks will create context for the POLE TO POLE network. All other networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc lack a real-world relevance to the user’s daily lives in the communities that they live in. POLE TO POLE sites will be location specific not only in the information delivered, but also in the way people will receive desired information to their own devices.
